Big news today folks: Mojoness, Inc., the company behind the very popular Mojo-Themes.com and Mojo-code.com, has been acquired by Endurance International Group in a press release earlier today.
There plans with the acquisition? To integrate the Mojo-based products into their own technology and platform to then sell to their customers.
I wasn’t aware of who EIG was but a quick search is revealing – they are a large cloud-based provider of services to small and medium-sized businesses, including hosting solutions.
So what this means, I gather, is that Mojo themes will be “integrated” or offered as value-adds to their existing product lines to be put into other hosting solutions, like HostGator, Bluehost and more.
Endurance plans to integrate Mojoness products into its platform to deliver new design, code and script options to customers of its leading brands, including HostGator, Bluehost, iPage and Domain.com—providing new ways for small business owners to improve the appearance and functionality of their websites, shopping carts, blogs and other aspects of their web presence. The acquisition will also help make open-source applications more accessible to less-experienced users.
Congrats to the team and JR and Brady, whom we’ve gotten to know last year when they actually acquired a theme from our team. I wish them the best of luck firming the deal and then moving on to their next adventure!
I saw no mention of the actual purchase amount but I imagine it’s a decently-sized one and a deal that makes the hard work of the team see a great payoff.
