Reading about WordPress is great and there are thousands of blogs covering everything WordPress related, from hooks to GPL battles, to themes and plugins and everything in between.
In fact, you probably already have “maxed” out the number of WordPress-related blogs that you’re subscribed to – there isn’t much room for another blog, right?
Well time to be a bit refreshed – sometimes it’s better to find a new unique voice via audio instead of doing all that reading all the time.
Consequently, let’s take a look at some of the best currently active podcasts about WordPress:
1. Hello Dolly
The youngest of the bunch with only three episodes under its belt, WP Daily’s Hello Dolly has a casual, free-flowing feel to it. Unsurprisingly (if you’ve been reading WP Daily), not a lot of “how-to do X with WordPress” talk, the podcast focuses on what is currently going on in WordPress community instead.
Based on the first few episodes, listening to Hello Dolly will not make you a better WordPress developer/designer, but it will help you be a more involved WordPress community member. If you want your voice to be heard, you can always call in at 1-832-DAILYWP.
And yes, it IS more useful than Hello Dolly plugin 🙂
New episodes every three weeks (right, guys?). Subscribe to WP Daily podcast in iTunes or via a direct feed.
2. WPwatercooler
Not your typical podcast, WPwatercooler is a weekly (Mondays 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM PST) Google Hangout that’s streamed live on WPwatercooler website and YouTube. So yeah, this is a video podcast. Another thing that sets it apart is the fact that host Jason Tucker keeps the episodes very focused by having only one topic per episode.
If you’re a freelance WordPress developer working from home, check it out.
Live, Mondays 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM PST. Subscribe to WPwatercooler in iTunes.
3. WordPress Resource: Your Website Engineer with Dustin Hartzler
WordPress Resource focuses on delivering tips small business owners can use to create and maintain a WordPress website. There are some developer oriented episodes, but if you’re an expert WordPress user this one is probably not for you. However, if you have a client who’d like to learn more about how WordPress works (so he could fire you? 🙂 ), this podcast could help.

4. WordPress Plugins from A to Z
Could you guess what this one is about? Every Friday John Overall and Marcus Couch deliver your weekly dose of WordPress plugins, helping you “separate the junk from the gems”. If you’re a WordPress publisher looking to add functionality to your website, give this one a go.

5. WPCandy Podcast
Wouldn’t make the list a week ago due to inactivity, but it looks like it’s back (at least for now).
Latest episoded tackles the “GPL WordPress Foundation vs. Envato” earthquake that hit WordPress community recently and features Jake Caputo (a.k.a. the guy that got banned from speaking at a WordCamp) as episode guest.
WPCandy Podcast is hosted by Ryan Imel and hopefully this last episode wasn’t just a one-time reminder of what WPCandy was.

Do you listen to any WordPress podcasts? If so, can you listen to a podcast while working and stay focused on both the discussion and your work?
Or perhaps you need music to boost productivity?
And, of course, did we miss any that we should know about?
