The scoop and word on the street is that Remi Corson, a very WordPress developer and blogger, is looking to release a free CRM (Customer Relationship Management) plugin with WordPress.
If it’s anything close to what a few people have already asked then it could be a doozy of a plugin that could provide a lot of value for those who manage, invoice and bill clients and customers on the web. There’s already a huge existing market for CRM apps but only a few WordPress-powered solutions.
Remi offered up some more context for what he’s building as well in a recent comment:
Well, i have already created a similar plugin but it wasn’t using CPT, so this time i’m doing it with another approach.
The main idea is to have a strong basis open for other developers to create addons such as payment gateways of estimates/invoices templates.
It should be very useful for many people and i’m sure you’ll find it interesting!
It already sounds very interesting and it’ll be interesting to see how it differs, expands, or competes with existing plugins like WP-CRM.
Sign-up to get notified when it goes live and they we’ll wait for Remi to work his magic!
