Well, there really is something for everything under the sun in terms of WordPress, right?
Well, the geniuses over at BracketPress have perfectly timed this release of a new plugin that’ll capitalize on the absolute insanity that is March Madness and the NCAA Basketball Tournament:
BracketPress is a free WordPress plugin which enables site owners to run their own Division One NCAA tournament pool.
Designed with businesses in mind, this tool enables you to engage and market to your website visitors in a fun and meaningful way. All the while, keeping traffic on YOUR site, with YOUR branding.
Yikes! It really is a genius idea since creating that value for your users and then leading them into other areas of your blog, your business or wherever you want to retain them will be a sweat benefit long-term.
Check these screenshots of the plugin in action:
You can get a great view of the entire bracket:
And of course you can edit it:
And here’s a look at the admin – nothing pretty but that’s not a big deal:
I would imagine that if this year proves to be successful for the team (Scott Hack, Nick Temple, Karamvir Singh, Charles Griffin) behind BracketPress that they’ll continue to innovate on the product and keep it going for years to come.
Who knows, it could become a mega-business if it scales well – the only challenge, naturally, will be the other 11 or so months where no one will necessarily need a bracketing plugin. I’m sure they’ll be able to figure that out though.
