Preserving a Blog for a Friend Who's Passed?

This exact question was brought up here on WordPress sub-Reddit:

Like I said in the title, two dear friends just passed away, and their travel blog is now in limbo.

I know that they hosted it themselves (godaddy, I think) and that recently they had problems with some malicious code issues.

The websites front page is up but many links to deeper pages are not working.

Does anyone know of a way that their page can be protected from further attacks and preserved/memorialised…

Anyone here have knowledge of this?

Ps I can dig out more info about what problems they were having if need be.

If you have any more advice for this person it would be greatly appreciated. There has already been some great responses – I’m sorry to hear about the loss and it’s great to see the community come out and support in a small way.
