Public-facing video uploader for WordPress.tv? Oh yes. Talk about a big win that will greatly reduce the friction between WordPress-related video (via WordCamps and WordPress events) and seeing them publicized on WordPress.tv!
This will help not only the moderators and managers of WordPress.tv and their work of uploading the content but really put the power (and responsibility) back into the hands of the community. It also means that more videos will be vetted and shared with even greater speed.
Jerry Bates (better known as JerrySarcastic) referenced this news via the events.make:
This has been a busy week for moderators at WordPress.tv, especially with the approaching availability of a public-facing video uploader.
What this means is that soon anyone can submit their best WordPress videos (tutorials, presentations, meetups, etc.) to the benefit of all users. Pretty exciting times, and look for a public announcement next week!
I’ll definitely be looking for that news next week. Perhaps this might even enable some of us (like the old WordCamp Atlanta videos) to finally get uploaded *cough* *cough*.
Oh, and they also had a killer week last week, publishing 31 videos over a 4 day period, besides testing the new video uploader interface.
I think that’s why my RSS reader freaking blew up with WordPress.tv updates – all good. It’s just unfortunate because I can’t watch all of them as I typically try to put them on in the background as I work. It’s going to take me some time to catch up!
