Brad Parbs sent us a note that I thought was neat enough to cover as the Theme Hook Alliance continues to grow it’s influence around the WordPress neighborhood.
And besides, he told us that we should share it – and so, we’re sharing it (besides, he’s a “rockstar,” at least via his own website)!
Recently he just added all of the hooks from the Alliance into the starter theme, called “_s,” to make everyone happy.
So what’s the big deal?
Well, for some it is a big deal as child theme authors and plugin developers have wanted (and need) a consistent set of entry points for their creations.
Sure, Core does provide a suite of them as well as tags but it’s not comprehensive. The Alliance, backed by the growing community, has agreed to help offset the deficit by creating THA themes that create that comprehension.
And why the heck not. You may not agree with Brad and the Alliance but for some it could create a lot of value and streamline and speed up development.
Is this something you’ll be looking to develop on top of this year? Are they missing any that you think should be added to their growing library?
