Contributing to WordPress and the greater community is a big reason why we continue to do what we do – we have a lot of thanks to give in terms of the lives that we get to lead and the freedom to build businesses off of the software.
It’s great and it’s a reason to give back. Tom, our technical editor here, just released the JavaScript Coding Standard in the WordPress Codex and has been working on it for the last few months:
[O]ne of the things about the WordPress Coding Standards that’s always seemed incomplete to me is how little it focused on JavaScript. It provides guides for PHP, for HTML, and it even has a stub for CSS, but there’s nothing in the Codex about JavaScript.
So he decided to do something about it. I spend a few minutes with him getting his take on contributing to the Codex, why he loves JavaScript so much, as well as his thoughts on WordPress and jQuery:
