Can there ever be too many WordPress meetups, parties, or get togethers? The answer is easily “no”!
Well, let’s make a go of it, shall we? On May 27th of this year we’re going to be celebrating the 10th anniversary of WordPress (since the very first release) and it’s going global baby!
Via Meetup Everywhere you can get connected in your local area to have a party as people around the globe celebrate the awesomeness that is WordPress. There are already 66 WordPress Anniversary parties and more to be started I’m sure by the time we get close to the day.
So, find your local community and either join an existing party (you can have more than one in the same local area) or start your own.
Oh yeah, there are a few “rules” – so check ’em:
- Pick a place to go where a bunch of people can be merry — a park, a bar, a backyard, whatever
- Spread the word to local meetups, tech groups, press, etc and get people to say they’ll come to your party
- If 50 or more people RSVP to your party, we’ll try to send you some WordPress stickers and buttons
- Have party attendees post photos, videos, and the like with the #wp10 hashtag
And that’s it! Of course, we’re looking into helping and/or organizing the Atlanta Party so if you want to help us we’d more than welcome you! Please do, in fact!
Are you going to be “saving the date” for May 27th? You better!
