I’ll come right out and say it – I’m not a fan of Evernote.
I know, I know. Keep your sticks and rocks to yourself! I just haven’t found it to be conducive to my particular workflow and to be honest I’m not interested in keeping and documenting everything – there is something powerful about forgetting information but I won’t go into that right now.
But, for those that are super-fans may want to take a moment out of their day and take a look at this new app that allows you to literally blog via Evernote.
And after spending a few minutes with the system I was very impressed with this implementation.
After signing up to Postach.io and allowing it to access my Evernote account I was thrown right into the mix of setting up the blog for the first time.
The options are not huge but just enough to get started, even having Google Analytics code baked right in!
Using markdown you can then start blogging to your heart’s content, but from Evernote.
The process was super-simple. Just create a new document, choose the selected Notebook (I chose “Stuff”), and then create your blog post. When you’re ready to publish you just add the “Published” tag and in real-time your post is published.
Seriously, that simple.
Adding a post:
And then adding the tag “Published” makes it go live.
A few more tests secured my awe in the simplicity of the blogging mechanics:
Remember, just add the “Published” tag:
And then that’s it:
They even have a basic theme editor for you to play with if you want to style it differently:
And that’s literally the entire application in a literal nutshell.
I’m happy to report that I really enjoyed seeing this implementation but I don’t see many people using it unless they are super-hardcore fans of Evernote.
But there may be a few observations that we can take away into our own WordPress development and design. Good job Postach.io and keep up the good work.
