We’ve all been circling the wagon in regards to the upcoming release of 3.6 and one of the hot topics of discussion has been the new yearly-based theme, Twenty Thirteen.
Well, whether you like it or not it’s coming and it made landfall yesterday for those in the WordPress.com space. Lance Willett announced it himself when he said:
This gorgeous theme is colorful, opinionated, and ready to give your blog a warm, welcoming vibe.
And opinionated you will be, in a good way of course.
The demo site is up and so you can take it for a stroll and even sport it if you like (if you do, share your site in the comments below!).
One of the things that I do appreciate is the obvious focus on post formats although not everyone would agree on their utility, it appears that they are here to stay in core and won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
Although a stylistically different departure (some would call “radical”) from the previous yearly themes it’s a breath of fresh air for those that don’t mind change all that badly.
If you’re a self-hosted WordPress.org user is the Twenty Thirteen theme something you’d sport on your own blog and site? Tell us why in the comments.
