Croogo – makes you think of the recent movie Croods (sorry, I’ve got kids, so that’s what happens in my head).
But Jake, one of our community members, stumbled upon it while surfing the other day and it did catch my attention when he shared it with us.
It’s the first time I’ve encountered it, that’s for sure.
Croogo is an open source CMS built on PHP, MySQL, CakePHP, and Twitter Bootstrap. Sounds like a powerful combination.
Powered by the MIT license you’ll be able to do anything you want with it so rock yourselves silly.
At first when I logged in to test it looked like WordPress for a moment and then it changed up and was definitely more of a CMS’y feel. Here are a few screens in my quick demo:
It’s interesting that you can have your Akismet spam key in there – there’s a nice hat-tip to WordPress!
I’m not sure if I’m going to be using this anytime soon but I appreciate the call-out by Jake. Is this something you might use? Let us know in the comments.
