Man, shed another tear? Nope, not me. Another blogging system, this one called Jux, has hit the lowest of low and offered their apologies as they plan to shutdown their service next month:
Your work has brought meaning to us, to millions of others, and hopefully to you. By providing a creative layer on top of words and images, Jux has helped you build narratives, hold attention, and connect people.
Unfortunately, Jux has not grown fast or large enough to attract further investment. The service will close on August 31, 2013.
Bummer. What a crazy interruption it’ll cause for many online publishers and bloggers – even more reason to choose an open source alternative and self-host your hard work, right?
Jux, a visual storytelling platform had seen some pretty good growth in the past few years but obviously not enough to continue on:
Since its August 2011 launch, Jux said that it has seen a 1,400 percent increase in posts and 3,000 percent growth in page views, with 20 percent of its traffic coming directly from links shared on Twitter and Facebook.
Again, bummer. It sucks to spend so much time investing in a platform (especially from the developer end of things) to only turn it off.
Time to stop the horror of lost content. Just go WordPress for goodness sake.
