Jetpack is continuing to release products updates and millions of people got the notification yesterday that they should probably update to version 2.3.
But did most of them update without taking a second look at what they were adding to their experience? Perhaps, perhaps not, which would be too bad because this release see the introduction of Omnisearch, a powerful global search feature that has a lot of potential:
Omnisearch: one search box, global results. Don’t waste time digging for that one comment with the useful link — or was it a post you saw it in? Search once and get results from all of your posts, pages, comments, and plugins.
Pretty neat as I’ve already used it once last night to find all the places that have the string “OMG”:
The power of this search can’t be understated and the potential for use for developers as well as it’s an easy way to extend WordPress’ native Filters API to create an even better and more comprehensive search experience within the user’s dashboard.
Oh, just think of the possibilities!
Good job team and keep on innovating and iterating!
