With over 60 new features to the new back-end admin existing Shopify users will be in for a real treat (if they haven’t already enjoyed the experience already).
Although they’ve been in active beta their announcement this morning brings the new features full-bore for the world to experience and use. The customers on the front-end won’t know any difference but shop owners will without question.
A few features of note:
- New Live Theme Preview – Allows you to see your results with publishing changes. Amazing.
- Advanced SEO – Meta descriptions and more.
- In-line editing for easier and more quick changes.
- Better admin dash to gain insights for traffic and sales report.
- Barcode integration.
You can read more on their announcement blog here.
Why does this matter? Well, for starters, there has been a lot of WordPress users who have migrated to Shopify for a better overall experience. In fact, the migration has been large enough to warrant a dedicated page about the comparison.
It’s hard to know how many have moved and I hope with new and improving plugins like WooCommerce we’ll see a shift in decision-making over time.
For now, many WordPressers choose to use Shopify and the embeddable widgets provided by the solution:

Have you used Shopify? Is it proving to be a successful solution for you and/or your clients?
