Oh yeah. WP Remote, a monitoring and update solution that has received a bit of attention recently is continuing their product development and rolling out a killer new feature that’s going to have a lot of people considering it strongly even more so as a competitor against the likes of VaultPress and even BackupBuddy.
As Noel Tock shared with me privately, they are already monitoring over 40k sties on a daily basis (and growing). With a $5 offering that competes directly with VaultPress’ newest tier it may have in fact just tipped the scales in their favor, especially with these features:
- Backups taken daily (download them at any time)
- 6 months holding
- Flexibility to exclude certain directories (i.e. git, svn, etc.)
Again, you start with $5 per month/site, but their normal service is still completely free, of course! Noel went on to share with me that there are even larger things coming down the pipe relating to automation and usability.
Yikes. That sounds awesome. Maybe it’s time to move over to WP Remote…
