It seems like Page.ly is doing some serious moving these days with new products, updates, throw in an acquisition, and even new partnerships – what aren’t they doing these days?
Oh, and yes, that’s right, they are even planning a conference (which is growing more-awesome every day) called Pressnomics. Yikes!
But this partnership with Cart66 is pretty neat and one that’s probably the first of many new partnerships to come from other players I would imagine:
In their public announcement it seems that Cart66 has teamed up with Pagely to offer the “first and only” managed hosting for WordPress eCommerce:
Cart66 Sky brings together WordPress, e-commerce, and managed web hosting giving you everything you need for a fast and safe online store with all the features you want for running your business. Finally you don’t have to mash together all the things you need for your e-commerce store and hope they all work together. Cart66 Sky is everything you need to run your own WordPress store.
Is this the “one stop solution” that you’ve been looking for? Web hosting, eCommerce, recurring billing and support for tons (45) payment gateways on a safe and PCI-compliant system (which means that you don’t need to apply or pay for an SLL certificate)?
Perhaps, perhaps. Although, I still remember some other products out there that have been announced previously that are doing similar things (or at least branding themselves similarly), such as Product Pier.
If this is of any interest to you then you’ll want to sign up for the Private Beta notification to see if you can get in.
I know that players like WooThemes have been rumored to be talking about a hosted solution for their WooCommerce system which we reported on a few months ago.
We’ll see how it all plays out, of course.
Congrats to both teams on the new partnership and I’m sure it’ll go swimmingly.
