Howdy Ya’ll—WordCamp Austin 2014 starts tomorrow!
The weekend will kick off at 9am with a keynote speech by design/user experience lead for the WordPress open source project, Jen Mylo. Following keynote are some pretty awesome sessions led by some impressive speakers.
This year, there are 5 different tracks (or 6 including Youth Camp) and 36 sessions.
To further enrich your WordCamp experience, don’t forget to check out some of the after hour festivities. This will give you an opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue with other WordPress fans, in a relaxed and informal setting.
WordCamp Austin After Party
The official WordCamp after party will succeed Saturday’s events, from 6-9pm. It will be held at the same location as WordCamp: The Commons Learning Center. And guess what? It will be centered around board games—Chess, Jenga, Monopoly, and more! A little friendly competition to spark some memorable conversations never hurt anyone.
There will be beverages and snacks available. There will even be a photobooth to document some of your WordCamp Austin memories!
The after party is sponsored by Media Temple,
CigarCamp III
CigarCamp will be held at Opal Divine’s Marina, and will begin around 9pm Saturday night.
In case you’re unfamiliar with CigarCamp, it originated out of small group of people who came together to enjoy a cigar after Wordcamp. It has developed into a unique WordCamp after party centered around smoking good cigars, enjoying delicious drinks, and having meaningful conversations.
This is a great opportunity to connect with fellow WordPress enthusiasts, developers, and designers—even if you prefer the smell of cigars over actually smoking them, and your drink of choice is water.
This event is sponsored by Torque and WP 101. There will even be Torque-branded cigars available for your enjoyment!
Many people have already RSVP’d, but there’s still time to reserve your spot. To RSVP, fill out this simple form. Just be sure to register soon—space is limited.
If you haven’t registered for WordCamp Austin 2014, there will be tickets available at the door!
Any other after parties going on at WordCamp Austin this year?
