Thanksgiving day is over. The dishes are drying, leftovers are distributed, and you’re just waking up from an inevitable turkey nap. Around 5 a.m., a different kind of celebration is starting across the nation. People are leaving their homes in the dead of the night in the search of one thing, deals.
Stores from Target to Macy’s offer highly discounted products for those willing to leave the warmth and comfort of their homes and stand in line for hours.
This phenomenon is called Black Friday, and it has been the busiest shopping day of the year since 2005. The Friday after Thanksgiving isn’t an official holiday, but schools and many companies close for a four-day holiday, which makes it the perfect time to get a jump on shopping. Stores are starting earlier every year, and some even open their doors on the evening of Thanksgiving, popularly referred to as Gray Thursday.
As you can imagine, long lines, limited deals, and understaffed stores has led to dangerous situations. Since 2006, there have been seven deaths and 98 injuries due to Black Friday. Stores are finding better crowd control methods, but it’s still an unpredictable environment. If you’re like me, you rarely leave the house for anything, and standing in line at 3 a.m. is the last thing you want to do after eating half your weight in potatoes and bread.
For people like us, there’s Cyber Monday. The day when people who would rather order something online get to take part in the value and discounts of the biggest shopping weekend of the year without leaving the comfort of their home. There are no lines, no fighting, and you don’t even have to get out of bed. Organizations across the web, including Amazon and Best Buy, participate in posting deals the Monday after Thanksgiving.
It was only natural that WordPress would want to get in on the action. Each year, more and more theme and plugin developers have created deals on products we all want. This year is no different.
BobWP is offering a discounted rate on a subscription to all the courses until Dec. 15. You will pay $19.95 a month for the rest of your time with BobWP. Some of the courses you’ll have access to are Learn the WordPress Basics, An Overview of Woo Commerce, All You Need to Know About Jetpack, and more.
Another great deal to take advantage of is taking 35 percent off the entire Woo Themes site. This includes all themes and plugins. If you have been eyeing a certain theme wait until the deal is active. You don’t need any kind of coupon code to access the discounts, just log on Friday and start buying.
