Planning for WordCamp US 2017 has commenced. Applications for the WCUS 2017 and 2018 host city are now open!
Applicants are asked to provide names and contacts for organizing teams as well as proposed venue information and average hotel and flights costs. The survey also requires details on contributor day, including venue and wifi information. You can read the full list of requirements here.
The call for a host city for the inaugural WCUS opened in June, 2015, just six months before the event. Regardless of the tight deadlines, organizers were still able to pull off a very successful WordCamp.
For WCUS 2017, organizers will have a considerable amount of time to plan. The location will be selected before WCUS 2016 which affords lead organizers the opportunity to learn from this year’s planning process and “give them some additional experience planning a WordCamp of this scale.”
