Ryan Sullivan over the weekend announced the speaker lineup for the second annual LoopConf, which will take place on October 5-7 in Ft. Lauderdale.
According to Sullivan, they received more than 250 applications to speak this year. But, with only 20 spots to fill, “we had to pass on a number of talks we would have loved to see,” he said.
“The good news is that we know that it was worth it and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the excellent blend of talent, diverse perspectives, and varying topics that are part of this year’s lineup,” Sullivan said in the announcement.
The schedule for the dev-centric conference is jam-packed with impressive speakers presenting on topics from the REST API to code review to PHP 7 and how to create a more inclusive community. You can view the full schedule here.
The (optional) workshop day, which is available for an additional $200, also features an exciting collection of presenters. In this hands-on workshop, instructors will work closely with attendees. The schedule for the workshop day is as follows:
- Maintaining and scaling multisite led by Jeremy Felt, John James, Jacoby, and Richard Tape
- Building AngularJS apps with the WordPress REST API by Josh Pollock and Roy Sivan
- Make developers not deathly afraid of TinyMCE led by Eric Andrew Lewis and Ella Van Dorpe
- Unit Testing your WordPress plugins with popular testing frameworks (TravisCI, CircleCI, Codeception, etc) — TBD
The keynote speakers for LoopConf have not yet been finalized, and will be announced at a later time.
