WooCommerce today announced a new integration with Square. The new extension opens up a slew of new options for store owners — you can now take purchases online or offline, have inventory updated automatically, sync product changes, and more.
“Helping merchants to sell in new and innovative ways is one of our core ideals here at WooCommerce,” said Matty Cohen, product lead for WooCommerce in the press release. “Integrating with Square helps WooCommerce stores build a retail presence in the physical world, while also empowering existing Square merchants to connect an eCommerce storefront to their business.”
The integration comes after years of asking customers how to improve WooCommerce. The people spoke: Integration with Square.
The two groups joined forces to create the extension that is available now.
What To Expect With WooCommerce And Square
The most exciting thing about Square is its ability to accept payment anywhere, even if you’re offline. The extension makes WooCommerce’s tagline “sell anything, anywhere” possible.
The order form is easy to use and understand.
For anyone already using Square, you can now create a powerful site for your online store with WooCommerce. Just use your Square account details to get started.
For WooCommerce users new to Square, you can purchase the integration to sign up for an account.
Square integration keeps your inventory up-to-date automatically as every purchase is recorded electronically.
The extension also syncs your WooCommerce and Square accounts so you don’t have to add every new product twice. Input a product once and it will appear everywhere. You’ll see any images, product details, categories, or SKUs simply by going to Settings > Integrations > Square.
This also means any changes you make to price or description will also be changed automatically.
The Integration Is Available Now
Purchase the integration here, and then sign up for a Square account here. Try it out for awhile and offer the creators feedback through the support page.
The integration will widen the reach of WooCommerce and even WordPress. WooCommerce powers 37 percent of online stores and now Square users have an easy way to make a great WordPress website.
