After the threat of Hurricane Matthew postponed LoopConf, it looked like the conference may not happen at all. However, due to the hard work of the team, it has officially been rescheduled. Everyone has worked around the clock during the last two weeks to put together a do-over. The conference will now be held Feb. 7-8 in Salt Lake City, with workshops on Feb. 6.
If you had a ticket to the original date and are able to attend in Salt Lake City, your ticket will automatically be transferred. Those that cannot attend the new date are asked to email [email protected] for a refund. You must request your refund by Oct. 31.
For anyone that didn’t have a ticket before but are now able to go, the ticket sales will be reopened. Ideally, all the same speakers would be able to attend the new date, but that may not be the case. The team is working to bring everyone to Utah, but there are no guarantees. An announcement will be made when the schedule is finalized.
Because the LoopConf team is located in Salt Lake, they were able to work with local connections to get a great venue and hotel for attendees. For all travel, venue, and hotel information refer to the announcement.
It was sad to see the cancellation of LoopConf 2016, but the fast creation of 2.1 shows the resilience of the community.
Glad to see @loopconf is still happening. Huge props to the organizers! https://t.co/xEVfQOy5v1

If you’re able to attend, buy tickets now, and make sure you pass the information on to anyone you know who was planning on going.
“LoopConf 2.1 is going to be every bit the experience we were going to deliver in Ft. Lauderdale, just in a different time and place,” the annoucement said. “I’m really looking forward to sharing my home with you. February can’t come soon enough!”
