WordCamp Europe is just two months away and is slated to be the largest WordCamp to date. With anticipation building, WordCamp EU today announced its first batch of speakers: Yoav Farhi, Rian Rietveld, Adrian Roselli, Pirate Dunbar, and Julka Grodel.
This year, speakers will be announced in waves leading up to the event. Today, the team released a group of speakers looking to make your site more accessible — touching on topics ranging from the REST API to PHP 7.
“Right to Left Language Support – The Right Way!”
This lightning talk by Automattician Yoav Farhi will deep dive into the basics of RTL support and show how to use automated tools to simplify the process.
“Accessibility in the Age of the Headless CMS”
In this session, WordPress engineer at Human Made Rian Rietveld will discuss the challenges and their solutions for site accessibility in the age of the headless CMS.
“Selfish Accessibility”
This talk by Adrian Roselli, member of the W3C Web Platform Working Group will cover the fundamentals about accessibility — including simple testing techniques, enhancements, future trends, and more.
“Reactive Natively with WordPress”
Digital architect Pirate Dunbar will walk deep dive into how to build a custom react native app using the REST API and WordPress.
“Is Your Code Ready for PHP 7?”
In this talk, Software Engineer at AddThis Julka Grodel will discuss PHP 7 and help you determine if you’re ready for it. She will discuss the important changes in variable handling, changed functions, and beyond.
Releasing the speakers in smaller batches definitely, has its benefits and helps draw more attention to the broader themes as well as the speakers.
These five speakers are just the beginning of a long list of dynamic and interesting speakers. Last year’s WordCamp Europe was the biggest WordCamp to date bringing people from all over the world.
