We are just 5 weeks away from WordCamp Europe, the world’s largest WordPress get together happening in Paris, France. In this week’s News Drop, we talk about the final schedule for this year’s event.

One of the world’s largest WordPress meetups, WordCamp Europe, is happening one month from now in Paris, France. Organizers have announced they’ve already sold 2100 tickets and are expecting final ticket sales to reach 3000. For contrast, last year’s record breaking event in Vienna only had 2,000 attendees.
Last week, WCEU shared their list of speakers and full schedule for this year’s event and it’s a great list. Filled with over 30 talks in two days with topics ranging from business development, to design and coding.
One of the big announcements is that Om Malik, founder of GigaOm, will be doing a 50 minute onstage interview with WordPress founder Matt Mullenweg, followed by 20 minute audience Q&A session with Matt. Attendees usually have no problem asking heavy questions about the future of WordPress, so these sessions tend to get very interesting.
One big twist on this year’s event is the addition of “sponsored tracks”. These are workshops similar in style to the 30 main talks, but the topics of these sponsored tracks have been chosen by one of the events main sponsors. Who knows if these tracks will be informative or just feel like an infomercial. It’s worth trying though, EU only live once.
If you are planning on attending WCEU, let us know what you think. Will you be attending any of these sponsor workshops?

We’ll see EU next week.
Still no word on where WordCamp Europe will be next year, I’m hoping for Stockholm… that’d really Sweden the deal. But if it was in Oslo, there’d be Norway I’d show up. I heard they have a hostel environment.
