Tickets to WordCamp Europe 2017 in Paris are officially sold out, but that doesn’t mean you need to miss the conference. As part of an effort to make the WordCamp as accessible as possible, the organizers have set up a free stream.
It works just like last year – to register, simply go to the Ticket page and get your free ticket to the stream. There are nearly 3,000 spots available – but to ensure your slot reserve your live stream ticket today. Though you won’t be able to participate in any of the after hours activities, you won’t miss a minute of the sessions. With the live stream, you can enjoy the impressive lineup of speakers from the comfort of your home.
Watch Parties
If your favorite part of attending WordCamps is interacting with other attendees, consider setting up a watch party. Gather with your local WordPress group and hook up the live stream. This is encouraged by the organizers, who will help promote your watch party event if you let them know in advance when and where you’re planning your party.
Though you’ll likely only use one ticket, organizers have requested that everyone at the party gets a ticket, so they know how many people were watching. Make sure you use the #WCEU on social media, so anyone in your area can find you, and bear in mind the conference is in UTC+2. Check time zones before you set up your party.
Once you have all that squared away, find a place with a good wifi connection and enjoy!
Sell or Buy Tickets
If you have extra tickets to sell or are hoping for a last minute buy, comment on this article set up by the organizers. The team set up a place where potentially unused tickets won’t go to waste, and someone who wasn’t going to be able to go will be able to.
So far the comment section has been very active, so if you are either looking to buy or sell, check it out. Tickets are going fast, so make sure you check soon.
Inclusivity
A big priority of this conference is accessibility and inclusion. The team understands that getting to France isn’t feasible for everyone, but that doesn’t mean you should be left out of the biggest WordCamp to date, with almost 3,000 attendees.
WordCamp Europe will be held on June 16-17 in Paris with a Contributor Day on the 15.
