Email deliverability measures the success rate at which your emails are delivered to the recipients’ inbox. Low deliverability means either your emails are landing into spam, or they are blocked by the Internet Service Providers (ISPs). The success of email marketing significantly depends on the rate of email deliverability. If your emails are not delivered to the users’ inbox, then email marketing becomes a total waste of time and resources. Therefore, high deliverability must be a priority if you are serious about email marketing.
Several factors affect the deliverability. Thankfully, WordPress users don’t need to get into technical details of the email ecosystem to improve the rate of email delivery. They can use an appropriate plugin or integrate an independent platform and take care of a few things to make sure that their email reaches into users’ inbox. Please note that although you can send emails from the WordPress dashboard, it is advised to send emails directly from these platforms to ensure better delivery. The following plugins have seamless integration of the platform with your website.
Here are five plugins that can significantly improve the deliverability without breaking the bank:
Sendgrid
I have been using SendGrid for five years and have been amazed by its performance. You can use SendGrid to send marketing as well as the transactional emails from a single platform. The company claims to have around 50,000 paying customers and delivers around 35 billion emails every month. Its list of clients includes Uber, Spotify, Airbnb, Foursquare, etc. If you are a beginner, you may have to go through a learning curve to take maximum advantage of the platform. Also, if you are not comfortable with HTML and CSS, then you will have to use another plugin to create a customer sign up form.
You can store up to 2000 contacts and send around 12000 email per month for free. The prices of paid plans depend on the number of contacts and the emails you send.
Mad Mimi
Mad Mimi was originally developed by its founders to promote their music company. Later, it became a full-fledged email marketing platform which was acquired by GoDaddy in 2014. Today, the company claims to send 40 million emails per day. It is an incredibly simple to use email marketing platform which comes with preloaded beautiful HTML templates suitable for various purposes. With Mad Mimi, even beginners can create attractive HTML newsletters in minutes. The official plugin from Mad Mimi has a flexible customer sign-up widget that can be used to create attractive sign-up forms.
You can store up to 100 contacts and send unlimited emails for free. The paid plans start at $10 for storing up to 500 contacts and sending unlimited emails.
SendPulse Email
SendPulse has many unique features that differentiate it from rest of the email marketing platforms. You can add and customize the responsive customer sign-up form. The customization can be done not just in terms of design, but you can also add appropriate fields in addition to Name and Email ID to capture more information. Thus, it helps you create better segmentations and send personalized emails relevant to a particular segment. With SendPulse, you can store up to 2,500 contacts and send 15000 emails per month for free.
Elastic Email
Elastic Email is a great email marketing platform with a robust delivery system that improves the email marketing efficiency. However, it doesn’t have an official plugin for WordPress. You need to use HTML integrations or MailPoet plugin to integrate Elastic Email with your WordPress website. If you are using MailPoet then you may have to export the contacts manually and upload it to the Elastic Email platform or send emails directly from your WordPress dashboard.
Elastic Email is ideal for digital agencies which provide email marketing services to their clients. It provides 100 percent white label dashboard with an option to add multiple accounts and domains. Thus, you can quickly set up a self-service email marketing platform and sell it to multiple clients.
To store up to 100,000 contacts, you will have to pay $.29 per 1,000 contacts. You can send up to 150,000 emails per month for free. The pricing system of Elastic Email is a little complex as compared to other email marketing platforms.
MailPoet
MailPoet is one of the most widely used plugins to create sign-up forms, manage contacts and send emails from within the WordPress dashboard. Although it does an excellent job of managing the contacts and creating sign-up forms, the deliverability and newsletter design can be an issue. The company has suggested using SendGrid as 3rd Party SMTP provider to improve deliverability. However, recently, they have built an end-to-end email marketing platform which should take care of these issues.
There are hundreds of email marketing platforms and plugins with different features. I have not mentioned some of the prominent ones such as MailChimp, OptinMonster, ConstantContact, etc. due to the cost factors which may not be affordable for beginners.
If you think, I have missed any other plugin or platform that improves deliverability significantly and which is priced competitively; please mention the same in the comments.
