Now here’s a neat solution that you may not have known that you needed (especially if you’re an editor for a multiuser blog or site): Realtime collaboration on those blog posts!
Participad does it through being powered by Etherpad Lite. For those already aware, Etherpad is an open source online editor created via Node.js that allows such neat things like realtime editing in a collaborative setting.
Honestly, I’m drooling over this thing since we’re trying to figure out our perfect editorial workflow for WP Daily here. Would realtime editing and collaboration be of use for our authors? Jury is out but I’m not one to skip out on experimenting!
Obviously this would be incredibly useful for not just editors for collaborative blogs but think bigger than that – perhaps your intranet site or business website. Or even for students who don’t want to use a wiki or Google Docs.
This could be a killer solution and the video below speaks for itself:
Is this something that you’d find useful for your own needs? Or is this overkill for the process and method that you’ve already established?
For our authors here – would this be useful or would this be superfluous?
It’s worth noting that you will have to have a separate Ehterpad Lite installation via the Github repo. Read more from the FAQ to find out how to do this exactly.
