The Professional WordPress: Design and Development by Brad Williams, David Damstra, and Hal Stern has been released in it’s second edition!
This book which is now in it’s second edition seeks to provide an incredible resource for those looking to develop software and solutions via WordPress. It covers some of the basics to hosting to Themes, Plugins, content, design, core, and even data architecture.
It might be one of the more comprehensive table-top companions that you have on your desk while you write all that pretty WordPress code! They provide samples and examples that’ll help both the newbie and the seasoned professional looking to dig in a bit deeper.
Brad Williams shares his thoughts on what this release is all about:
Professional WordPress is a book written by programmers for programmers. We take a more in-depth look at WordPress to help explain how WP works from the inside out.
The book offers an overview of the WordPress loading process and steps through exactly what happens when a WordPress-generated web page is displayed.
The book also covers extending WordPress functionality through custom plugins and creating website designs with custom themes and child themes. All major tutorials throughout the book include code downloads and samples on the WROX website.
Congratulations to the three authors and I wish the release and sale their very best!
So does anyone have this on their desk? What are your thoughts about the book’s first edition and will you be getting the newly-updated release?
