Stop writing code. Start drawing it.
You get stopped for a moment when you first read it. Huh? Really?
That’s what Macaw is trying to do with their app and tool that hopes to close the gap between what you see and what happens underneath the hood, so to speak.
You can read the whole overview on their very pretty site but you can’t sign-up yet as they haven’t released it to the public (sign-up form is at the bottom for updates).
Neat implementations like this keep the web very, very interesting for me, especially the applications that challenge our conceptions of what is proper and what actually works, combining what Steve Jobs said is a necessary convergence – the sciences/engineering and liberal arts.
I believe great apps do this as you wouldn’t be able to tell which side is brilliant engineering and which side is purely art. Perhaps Macaw will seek to do just that.
Got any other tools that you can’t wait to see come out into the wild?
