WordCamp NYC kicks off Friday with contributor day—a day geared towards contributing to the WordPress project—at NYU Kimmel Center! The main event, on Saturday and Sunday, will be held at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge.
The WordPress-centric event is one of the most heavily-anticipated WordCamps of the year, and draws WordPress developers, designers, enthusiasts, and users from all around the world. This year, WordCamp NYC features a most impressive group of speakers. Speakers are scheduled to present on trending topics such as WordPress tools and development, security, entrepreneurship, REST API, and more. Who knows, maybe we’ll even hear more about the future of WordPress.

Contributor Day
Contributor day is Friday from 12-6pm at NYU Kimmel Center, and provides a great opportunity to learn about and contribute to the WordPress project.
Whether you’re checking for bugs in WordPress 4.0, updating WordPress documentation, or helping others who are new to WordPress, contributor day is the perfect opportunity to give back to the community.

The Main Attraction
Saturday
Doors open to the main event bright and early, at 8am, on Saturday at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge, and the fun will commence shortly thereafter.
The presentations will be held in four main rooms: Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens—each of which will host different speakers throughout the day.

For those of you who are new to WordPress, you’re in luck: there will be an all-day WordPress beginner workshop on Saturday. The day will be divided into two workshops—Introduction to WordPress, from 9:15am-12:15pm, and customizing WordPress, from 2-5pm.!
Sunday
Doors open at 11:30am on Sunday, and events begin at noon. There’s an option to attend a speaker workshop, So You Want to Be a WordCamp Speaker: A practical workshop for beginners, led by Kathryn Presner and Tammie Lister, from 12– 2:30pm.
Happiness Bar
This weekend, WordCamp NYC features a happiness bar, where you can find answers to all of your WordPress-related questions. You can find it in the same place where you register in the morning.
It will be open all weekend, so if you have any burning questions that needs answering, make sure you stop by!
Cultivating Community
WordCamps provide an excellent opportunity to learn, create, interact, and network, all while cultivating community along the way. They’re fundamental to maintaining the overall health of the WordPress ecosystem.
