Mullenweg Donates $1.5M to Complete Bay Lights Project
WordPress co-founder Matt Mullenweg donates $1.5 million to help complete an $8 mil San Francisco Bay project lighting up the Golden Gate. This is in addition to an initial $100k pledge when the project started. Matt originally posted and asked for donations for the project back in May 2012: The $8 million project was $1.5 million short of its fundraising goals to maintain the display, but project officials announced today that blogging platform WordPress founder Matt Mullenweg donated the remaining amount.
