InfiniteWP: An Unlimited WP Site Management Solution

Hey guys, Cam here and I’m back with another community submitted review. Today we’re taking a look at InifiteWP, an unlimited WordPress site management solution.

At first glance InfiniteWP looks good. It’s a clean website, a decent intro video and some good, well placed customer testimonials. They make sure you know that the basic package is free and that downloading is simple. So far so good!

Free features include a single master login to all of your WordPress sites, one click updates for themes, plugins and WordPress itself, instant backups and restores and finally bulk management of plugins and themes (installations and activations/deactivations).

All of that is free, not bad if you ask me.

Not bad for their first year in business!

When you take the tour you get to see how easy it really is to use. The layout make sense and the overall experience is intuitive.

I’m not a huge fan of the colors and I wish it had a bit more meat to it, from a design standpoint, but it functions exactly like it’s supposed to.

In addition to the basic features that come with the free download of InfiniteWP there are a number of premium addons that you can purchase to enhance InfiniteWP.

Some example addons include: Client reporting, WP maintenance, malware scanner, Google analytics, manage comments and code snippets.

Lots of addons for your customization needs.

The available addons range in price from $49-$99. If you’re looking to buy more than one addon you can by some pre-fab bundles at a discount. These discounted bundles range in price from $140-$607.

So you can see that working with InfiniteWP, while initially free, can escalate into some pricier waters. That being said, if you find that this is a solution that works for you, wouldn’t you be willing to pay to make it even better?

They’ve also got some interesting things on the horizon including an iOS app and an IFTTT wizard. I’m intrigued to see what they do with a dedicated iOS app. I’m hoping they knock it out of the park, but we’ll have to wait and see about that.

I’m planning on downloading and using the free version for the multiple WordPress sites I have. Hopefully I can avoid using the premium addons for a while. To me that will be the true test of InifiniteWP’s inherent value.

I’ll be sure to report back after I’ve been using it for a while and let you know what I think. In the meantime, if you’re using InfiniteWP let us know what your experience has been!

We’ve been heavy users of it for six months now (100+ sites in there). It has some hiccups, but is quite solid overall. We bought the “lifetime addons” a few months ago for like $199, so we get every addon that comes out. Some of them aren’t as good as they need to be yet (the “client reporting” one has so much potential, but it’s weak) but some aren’t bad.

ManageWP is a slicker alternative, but it would cost us around $250/month, which really adds up…

I’ve been using IWP for about 6 months as my primary app for keeping multiple WordPress installations updated (around 20 sites). So far I’ve had zero issues with the sites themselves in terms of WP/plugin/theme updates. I find a bug here and there in IWP but usually very very minor. They’ve done a good job releasing updates.

I’m using this as an early adopter and used the discount price which included all the add-ons. It’s great and they’re delivering great extra’s. Also the updates they are delivering frequently. So until now, I’m a happy user and can recommend it for managing all the WordPress sites.

Just wanted to pipe in here and let you know there are alternatives out there that isn’t just manage wp. I’m one of the team behind Worpit.com and if you’re looking for a great tool to manage sites with loads of features, check us out.

It isn’t free of course, but it’s competitively priced and you only pay for what you use and need, when you need it – so the costs scale with you as you grow.

  Worpit is very keenly priced – I never understood, though, why you guys didn’t emphasize that by, instead of charging $0.36 per site per month, simply make it one cent per day – not a huge difference mathematically but a powerful statement in marketing terms.

I’ve tried this, but it really had issues updating my sites. I don’t have too many, so I went back to the free version of ManageWP and have had no issues. The interface is great, but the performance didn’t cut it for me.

I have been using InfiniteWP every day for almost a year and have not had a single problem – it is, quite simply, a game-changer for anyone with a business based upon WordPress.

There are, of course, many good options these days. ManageWP, the original innovator, is an excellent service with the renowned Vladimir Prelovac behind it but I found the initial pricing disappointing because I felt that they were missing a big opportunity to revolutionize WordPress management for everyone. In retrospect, and following an email discussion with Vladimir, I now totally understand that the market they were pursuing makes absolute sense and, these days, I do recommend ManageWP to anyone who works mostly for paying clients with one big website: in that circumstance it is easy to justify the expense. For people in other situations, there are now plenty of alternatives.

In my case, I am managing a high and ever-changing number of sites of many different sizes, some for paying clients, many of my own and many more done as freebies for friends or good causes (I am truly terrible at business!), so, the one-off cost of InfiniteWP makes a lot more sense.

Even on its own, the basic free software gives you those fundamental, revolutionary features: one master login/ dashboard, one-click updates, instant backups/restores and bulk management of plugins and themes … for an unlimited number of sites.

It was a brave decision to give so much for free because, as a user, you could stop right there and save massive amounts of time without ever paying them a cent. They decided, however, to bet that, by making the free version truly useful, and exposing everyone to that convenience, enough users would then see the value in paying for handy extras, such as being able to manage all your comments in one place (I LOVE that feature). This is so different from the mindset of most companies, who provide a strategically crippled free version. With InfiniteWP, the free version, alone, is a no-brainer for anyone running more than a handful of sites.

The main technical difference between InfiniteWP and the others is that you install it on your own server or, my preferred approach, you can run it locally. I use it in tandem with ServerPress and the big advantage is that this allows you to simultaneously update all of your locally and remotely hosted installations of WordPress. I am embarrassed to admit that, at any given time, I probably have two or three dozen experimental sites running locally, so, obviously, using a hosted service would still leave me with the problem of managing those sites by hand.

I also like the security advantage of being able to run InfiniteWP only when I actually need to use it, rather than having a potentially hackable gateway to all my sites sitting out there, online, 24/7. I do trust that services such as ManageWP know what they are doing but, even so, running your management tool only when you need it is fundamentally more secure.

Incidentally, it is also worth being aware of the command line WordPress management tools WordShell and WP-CLI. I can see how they might, in the longrun, allow you to work even more efficiently but, for me, right now, InfiniteWP hits the sweet-spot between ease-of-use and control. Also, I’m not sure if the command line tools handle quite as many tasks as InfiniteWP when you include all the add-ons (that is one comparison review I would very much like to read) but, for now, InfiniteWP is just about the best WordPress product I have ever used.

Another early InfiniteWP adopter here; it’s been a great experience for us so far. Remote cloning is one of my favorite features and secure S3 backups are great. Although I did consider ManageWP well before I even knew about InfiniteWP, I’m not a fan of subscription services, when they can be avoided.

Our plan on ManageWP would have been close to 500/month. That’s 6k/year. For that, we’d put two developers on this task for a few weeks and try to roll our own, or just get more sites with WPEngine or other managed WP hosting if needed. (But ManageWP looks really solid – the mobile apps are gorgeous, and many colleagues love it).

But hey, InfiniiteWP, while missing mobile apps, is very solid. I’ve thrown some pretty crazy stuff at it, and the staff is pretty helpful. It paid for itself in the first week.

Worst app ever. Poor support, overpriced addons, and the buggiest code every. Anyone supporting this app here is an affiliate. Don’t be fooled. Unless you want major headaches avoid this app at all costs. We wasted $200 on addons and hours with the worst support staff on the planet. This app cannot even backup to amazon s3!! Free apps like Updraft do this easily.
I will openly challenge anyone in an open forum on this as I have documented proof at how bad this app is.
