We’re running a bit behind on our build-out of our new downtown office space for our Editorial Offices but that’s ok – it’ll be all worth the wait when it comes together.
The last major piece of our construction efforts is one large sound-proof room that’s going to house not only our creative meetings but also be the space for our Hello Dolly Podcast and even a place for me to nap during the day.
Napping is a vital part of my own personal creative process and is absolutely necessary for me to function at my very best. Historically I’ve taken a few naps a day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. These aren’t incredibly long naps but I wouldn’t call them “power naps” either.
It’s just a moment for me to refresh, hit the pause button, lighten the load on my weary brain, and give my fingers some breathing room. As a result our designer, Jared, custom designed the space for me (and the other stuff too). I can’t wait!
If you’re curious, I also like to try and experiment with alternative forms of napping, like using this Ostrich Pillow for example.
Here’s a picture of me wearing the darn thing:
Yes. Yes, I know… Learn more about that odd thing here.
In anycase, I’m personally stoked to show the place off when WordCamp Atlanta happens in a few months since we’re hosting the VIP and Speaker Afterparty there! Whoot! Hope to see you there.
