Hey, as they say:
If it ain’t broke then don’t fix it!
And that’s what ManageWP has decided to do with their Android port of their iOS app that launched a few months back.
You’ll find a near 1-to-1 experience if you’ve taken a look at the iPhone version of their service.
What’s neat is that they have a very clear goal in mind for their mobile product development department:
The intention with our mobile apps is to create an experience that in some ways can actually supersede the desktop version of ManageWP and we are confident that we have achieved that with the Android app.
Whilst you will still rely upon the desktop version for gaining access to total control of your ManageWP account, the mobile app gives you a way of accessing the most commonly-used features in just a few taps.
Everyone knows that we’re headed into a mobile world where customers and users alike are demanding access to their free and especially paid services on-demand, wherever they are.
It makes sense, then, that you’ll be able to manage most (if not all) of your account at some point on some mobile platforms. Although most services will still require a desktop version I wonder how many will go “all-in” and try to duplicate the experience on a natively mobile app.
For example, although Instagram isn’t nearly as complex of an application perhaps as ManageWP you can have the “entire” experience on your mobile device and not ever have to log into a web interface.
Great work guys and congrats on the launch.
