Yes, that is a monkey and yes he is wearing a mask and a cape.
He is one of the newest editions to our growing office space and is something that I will personally enjoy chucking at my partners.
Today is yet another day where I will spend most of it cleaning up and building random things here and there while the rest of my team does work remotely. You see, there are going to be quite a few times right now where I’ll be the only one here as we’re finalizing schedules and making changes in our separate lives to be fully present here in the office.
Weird, I know, but the fact is that we’ve been a very distributed and virtual team for most of our organization’s life and we’re quite comfortable at communicating and doing great work in our own home offices.
But the reason we opted to move into a space together is because there’s something powerful about being fully present with each other. I know that some teams will always be 100% virtual and extol the benefits and values that that particular perspective brings and I get that – but for us we just love to hang out.
And besides, how can I toss a monkey into someone’s face without them actually being there?

As you can see also see today is also about building tons of chairs and extra seats. Why? Because we’re making room and places for you to sit and join us.
We’ve mentioned it before and I have to say it again – I’m incredibly excited to start having “Work @ WP Daily Day” or “jelly” events as they are sometimes described (casual coworking for locals).
We’ll setup some times and you can just drop on by, work and relax here, grab a cup of coffee, and hang with us. Publish a blog post (or two) and connect with other local online publishers, entrepreneurs, and technology-lovers. Whatever!
So keep you ears open, especially if you’re here in the Atlanta area, for the next event.
Ok. Now I have to clean this stuff up…
See you guys online!
