You’ve probably seen this video being shared a few times already but if you haven’t you’ll notice an Envato property being used as an example of “one” of those Photoshop-centric sites that are helping graphic artists mask “real beauty” with filters and actions.
What their campaign is simply about is reminding us that our real beauty doesn’t have to be altered.
So they created a fake Photoshop action that reverts the changes done on an image when you use it. They “trick” the user by letting them think its adding a “skin glow effect” and instead it pwns them in the face with this message:
Real beauty isn’t retouched.
So, what are your thoughts on their campaign and “trick”? The question I suppose I ask is whether or not it’s actually “working” as intended.
Sure, the point isn’t to call out Envato or Photo Tuts+ in particular but rather to make a bigger message and point – so, what’s your take?
