Daniel, who was part of the VIP Services team at Automattic, has announced that he’s left the role just shy of two years of employment there.
Citing the fact that he hasn’t felt like his personal growth was at an acceptable pace he’s looking for a more “challenging opportunity,” one that will push him to “learn, grow, and lead.”
Daniel is a guy that most of this team subscribe to and he’s incredibly bright and eager to move on to the next big thing – he’s even open to hearing about new opportunities, so feel free to drop him a line.
Best of luck Daniel as I’m sure you will be missed!
What’s interesting to note is that within the last 6 months or so this will make the 4th (at least, according to one community member’s count), Automattician to leave, including such notable talent like Chelsea Otakan, Daryl Koopersmith, Evan Solomon and now Daniel Bachhuber.
It just makes you wonder if there’s anything going on that the public doesn’t see outwardly that’s making big players take another look. This isn’t conspiracy theory or anything – perhaps it’s just coincidence and nothing more.
But I do love how Daniel is straight-up about how it’s a personal matter – he wants to be challenged and advance his career and skills, even if he’s working at one of the best companies on the planet.
