I hopped onto WordPress.org this morning and found a distinctly new header:
The new style is already fairly reminiscent of the MP6 plugin that’s being used to “break the wp-admin UI” and offers a playground for ideas and testing of a more modern admin area. Knowing that, I got curious, and found that the stylesheet being used is called wp4.css.
Knowing that WordPress 4 will, naturally, be the next major release: is someone hiding a hint in the source code about the projected integration of the new “MP6” admin area, or is this just a strange coincidence?
Let’s get speculative for fun, shall we?
*Update*
As Chip pointed out below, 4.0 is not the next “major” release of WordPress, so this busts up my speculation pretty well. It’s still interesting to see the headers change to be in line with the MP6 plugin, and it’s exciting to see things moving forward. Cheers to the community for keeping us honest!
