Modern Tribe announced today it is acquiring GigPress, a plugin for musicians and performers. Created by Derek Hogue of Amphibian Design nine years ago, GigPress manages live performances on WordPress. “I’m still kind of astounded at how many people use it, considering it was a thing that grew out of my own needs as a developer. There’s now more than 20,000 active installs, which blows me away,” said Hogue. “For several years, I’ve just been keeping up with maintenance and bug fixes. I’m excited to pass it on to a new home where it will get the care it deserves.” […]
Learning JavaScript At WordCamp Miami
Last month, WordCamp Miami featured a track completed dedicated to learning JavaScript. This full-day track covered everything JavaScript — from the fundamentals to more in-depth talks on frameworks — and was inspired by Matt Mullenweg’s 2015 State of the Word homework assignment to “learn JavaScript, deeply.” I presented on AngularJS basics and how to use Angular with the WordPress REST API. In the past, JavaScript has been more of an afterthought, mainly using […]
