January is just around the corner and there are six (count ’em), six WordCamps that are happening in six different countries and only one in the US of A.
I think this clearly shows the universal play that WordPress has around the globe and I’m so stoked that the first month of 2013 is so international.
Here they are:
- WordCamp Victoria, January 12 in Victoria, British Columbia
- WordCamp Phoenix, January 18-20 in Phoenix, Arizona
- WordCamp Paris, January 18-19 in Paris, France
- WordCamp Mexico, January 18-19 in Ciudad de Mexico, Distrito Federal, México
- WordCamp Baroda, January 26-27 in Baroda, India
- WordCamp Norway, January 26-27 in Oslo, Norway
Pretty neat, right? It just floors me that we have this much passion in so many different places – it’s one of my goals to eventually make it out to these international venues and experience the WordPress culture in an entirely different physical culture!
Are You Going to a January WordCamp? Live Blog for Us!
One of the things that we’d love to have happen long-term is have representatives for WP Daily at every single WordCamp event. That’s right, every. single. one.
You are probably aware of a number of blogs that cover killer events like the Apple Announcement events with live bloggers providing on-the-ground notes and blog posts about what’s happening in real-time. Wouldn’t it be neat if we could provide that type of coverage worldwide at WordCamp events?
That way everyone, at any point in time (as long as there is a WordCamp going on) can be experiencing some of the community and share in the value that’s being created so more people can learn, more people can become educated, and more people can learn to love WordPress… well, more.
So, if you’re headed to any of the events in January we’d love to talk to you to help cover some of the event, whether it’s just a blog post or two or just some pictures of the people attending the event. Contact Us and let us know and we’ll do something neat.
Rockin’!
