Extending the functionality of your WordPress website is as simple as installing a good plugin. But what if you need a custom functionality not available by plugin? With a little understanding of PHP and WordPress actions and filters (wait don’t leave me yet!) you too can add helpful features to your own WordPress site. In fact, one of the first plugins I wrote was to solve a problem for my employer for which there was not extant plugin. Let’s take a look at a simple WordPress function present in every installation of WordPress since version 3.0. A function is a […]
The Importance of Educating Clients
It wasn’t ever so long ago websites could be built and left untouched for an entire year and hardly anyone noticed. Web 2.0 came on the scene and everything began to change. Literally. Static websites died and the web became fluid. It changes everyday. Updates are commonplace for desktop apps and WordPress alike. Everyone is blogging, everyone is sharing, everything is on the move. Daily Theme & Plugin Roundup – 2.17.2013
We have a couple of familiar faces on today’s roundup. The two new themes from yesterday’s roundup have already been updated. Make sure to get their updates if you installed them on your site yesterday. There’s also some new plugins as well today. One of them looks like something I have seen people ask for before, Remove More Jump. It removes the anchor tag for the more link so when someone clicks on the link, they don’t get moved down the page, but rather left at the top of the page. Take a look at the others too!
