Jason Lemieux earlier this week announced Postmatic 2, which includes new features such as digests, service integration support, comment intelligence, and more. The update comes a year after the initial launch of Postmatic. Email Digests Postmatic Digests allows you to set up daily, weekly, and monthly automatic newsletters. Unlike other newsletter and digest services, Postmatic Digests displays the post title, author name, the number of comments, and top commenters. WordCamp Europe 2013 – An Overview
What a whirlwind! The first thing that I want to say is that I made a mistake when I decided not to bring my Cannon Rebel. Next time I’ll be sure to lug it along—even though it adds a little extra stress as far as fear of theft goes, and a little extra discomfort in the trains, planes and bicycle hopping process. But the iPhone just doesn’t do this trip justice… That said, I would like to encourage any/all of the WCEU attendees to email Torque your photos from the trip. It would be nice to do a proper spread, and give all […]
5 Takeaways From This Week’s AMA With Marie Dodson
Torque’s fearless editor Marie Dodson took over this week’s ManageWP AMA. Dodson manages contributors from the community and an unruly staff to deliver WordPress news, tutorials, and analysis. For the last three years, Dodson has been heavily involved in the community and has worked to create a resource for WordPressers of any skill level. People asked her what it’s like to run a WordPress publication, her thoughts on coffee, and of course, the future of WordPress. Editorial planning is formulaic. Though it may not seem like it, there is a method to our madness here at Torque. Dodson considers when each post should […]
Gender Diversity in WordPress: It’s time to lead by example
The topic of women in tech is making headlines around the world, with recent light being shed on the gender inequality plaguing Silicon Valley. In the WordPress space, this isn’t really something we talk about. While I have personally found the community to be inclusive and accepting, the reality is that women are dramatically underrepresented in the space. This shouldn’t come as a shock considering the overall distribution of women in the technology space, but it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t talk about it. We interviewed three women in the WordPress space — Bridget Willard, Jennifer Bourn, and Petya Raykovska — about what […]
How Wapuu Created A Cultural Center for WordPress
The first time I went to a WordCamp I knew absolutely no one there and that made me a bit nervous, to say the least. I didn’t really know what to expect. I’d been to a few really big tradeshows and some educational conferences, and expected some hybrid of that, which isn’t too far off, but what I didn’t expect was the community. I’ve been to a lot of WordCamps since that first one and while the basic format has stayed the same, one change I’ve loved is how Wapuu, the mascot for WordPress has become a part of pretty […]
