Lema vs Goldman: Business @ WordCamps?!
Ok ok ok. So much needless drama (and headline) – I’ll admit it. But I’m having a bit of fun here, so cut me some slack! But last night Chris Lema and Jake Goldman had a few keen words to say about WordPress and Business (and “amateur” hour). Hosted by Matt of Matt Report, I was initially invited to join in but was unable to because I had to eat dinner, which I thought was much more important at that very moment. Check it out after the jump – some great thoughts overall and I’m glad Matt was able to schedule […]
Is WordPress and Business 'Amateur Hour'?
It’s a discussion that I’ve had on many occasions and one that popped up this past weekend as Jake from 10up offered some free commentary on the state of WordPress and business with these apparently rhetorical words: https://twitter.com/jakemgold/status/341230138404507650 What ensued was an epic thread of more than just a handful of people who added their proverbial 2 cents into the mix. The question and answer is up for grabs though: Can a 4-man agency command the respect of people (and possible attendees at an event)? How does one define success with WordPress business-making?
Publishing Workflow: Techniques and Plugins
Any serious online publisher and blogger knows that a publishing workflow is essential for survival – it’s what enables us to push out content consistently and with speed enabling the blog to stay competitive and fresh in a very wide and growing competitive landscape. Even if you aren’t an editor of a news blog or having to manage multiple authors and posts a day, you also have a personal workflow that suits your needs – I bet it could be improved though! Jake Goldman of 10up shared this presentation at the recent CMS Expo 2013 and it’s worth a look, […]
The WordPress Weekend Roundup
Hope you guys had a great week! It’s already into March, can you believe it? We’re nearly 25% of the way through 2013. Someone pinch me, seriously, because it’s moving way too fast. Here’s your weekly rundown of what you may have missed that wasn’t explicitly covered here on WP Daily. Let us know if we missed anything or if we need to subscribe to a particular blog and what not! I think you should at least take a look at #3, $22, #24, and #26. Those are must-reads, especially #24 on remote management.
An Interview With Jake Goldman, President of 10up
Whether he is speaking at WordCamps all over the country, teaching classes about WordPress or writing and reviewing for Smashing Magazine, it’s clear Jake Goldman is a WordPress man through and through. On top of this he is the president of the WordPress based web development company, 10up. Rumor has it he’s a pretty slick plugin developer too. Check out our interview with him below.
