I hope you are having a very chill and relaxed weekend as we walk into the 4th of July week! Many of you are probably traveling this week and I hope you travel well and safely. Perhaps most importantly is that you can get offline and just enjoy family, life, and other such things that are vastly more important than *gasp* WordPress! Hahaha!
The WordPress Weekend Roundup
What a week – how was yours? I’m spending my time in Florida on a mini-vacation of sorts (still very-much working) and it’s been good so far. The team back home in Atlanta hasn’t let anything burn to the ground, so that’s good news. Hope you are finding some rest and relaxation this summer my friends!
5 Sure-Fire Ways to Grow a WP Marketplace
It seems that a growing trend among marketplaces is to leverage a combination of the following pieces of strategy: Volume – Get as many authors in as possible. MOJO Finalizes Bluehost, cPanel Integration
When MOJO Themes announced they were acquired by EIG they had shared in their announcement that pending integrations with some of the big name players were being planned as part of the acquisition and commercialization strategy. It’s been a bit of time since that announcement but they’ve finally shared their news and even how they’ve gone about this big project:
The Upcoming and Future MOJO Marketplace
With the recent news of MOJO Themes being acquired we knew that there would be some news coming from them about some of the neat stuff that they are planning on doing since the acquisition. Well, we can wonder no more because they’ve announced a new MOJO Marketplace that’ll be coming soon. They’ve been working on it for quite some time which will be perfectly integrated with Endurance’s hosting companies (the acquiring company). Sellers might want to get ready because the opportunity to insert yourself into millions of customer’s dashboards might be too good to pass up. It’ll be a […]
MOJO Themes Acquired by EIG!
Big news today folks: Mojoness, Inc., the company behind the very popular Mojo-Themes.com and Mojo-code.com, has been acquired by Endurance International Group in a press release earlier today. There plans with the acquisition? To integrate the Mojo-based products into their own technology and platform to then sell to their customers. I wasn’t aware of who EIG was but a quick search is revealing – they are a large cloud-based provider of services to small and medium-sized businesses, including hosting solutions. So what this means, I gather, is that Mojo themes will be “integrated” or offered as value-adds to their existing product […]
Mojo Themes Goes 100% GPL
Mojo Themes has been around for a little bit of time – over 3 years to be precise. They’ve grown quite a bit in the last year and the growth doesn’t seem to be stopping. Which is why they announced yesterday that due to growth and how they, as a company, impact the WordPress community, they are going completely GPL: We are currently working towards having our licensing change to be fully compliant in regards to WordPress products. With the change we would have all WordPress themes and plugins sold on any MOJO Marketplaces will be licensed under the GPL. This is […]
