If there’s one thing I love as much as writing blog posts, it’s reading them. And learning about a topic like WordPress is conveyed much more efficiently on a blog rather than on something like a textbook. But make no mistake, I carefully select the blogs I frequent — not just any Tom, Dick, or Harry blogger makes it to my reading list. The main things I look for in blog are: a blogger (s) who knows what they’re talking about, consistent posting frequency, and (above all) high-quality content and depth. So without further ado, I present to you 10 of my favorite WordPress blogs: handpicked […]
The WordPress Weekend Roundup
It’s been an insane week – and it’s been nothing short of a miracle. Finishing our Epic Gaming Mural, Holding our Jelly Event, organizing and finishing out WordCamp Atlanta (and the VIP after party), launching a Kickstarter Campaign, and managing all the other “normal” things in life – yikes, it’s just been insanity! We’ve been getting a few hours of sleep each night, if we’re lucky. As you can see, Chris is trying to recover… at 8:00am in the morning. But without further ado, here you go:
The WordPress Weekend Roundup
Hope you guys had a great week! It’s already into March, can you believe it? We’re nearly 25% of the way through 2013. Someone pinch me, seriously, because it’s moving way too fast. Here’s your weekly rundown of what you may have missed that wasn’t explicitly covered here on WP Daily. Let us know if we missed anything or if we need to subscribe to a particular blog and what not! I think you should at least take a look at #3, $22, #24, and #26. Those are must-reads, especially #24 on remote management.
Creative Market Goes GPL, UpThemes, Themify
The Creative Market, a very neat looking marketplace that has a very Etsy-like feel to it, has announced that they are in full compliance with the GPL moving from their original single license called SimpleLicense. That’s why starting today, all WordPress themes sold on Creative Market will come with a 100% GPL license. WordPress itself was built on (and would not have been possible without) the GPL license, which works to ensure rights […]
The WordPress Weekend Roundup
Whew. Another week, come and gone. It’s getting faster it seems, right? I mean, it’s already February! Where did the first month go and how are we almost half-way through the second? There have been a lot of great conversations and great content being shared all over the place and we couldn’t possibly have gotten to it all – so in our typical fashion, here’s our Weekend Roundup:
Creating a WordPress Theme Tutorial
Have you ever wanted to learn how to create a WordPress Theme from scratch? Here’s an incredible primer via ThemeShaper that has gotten an incredible amount of attention because, well, it deserves it. The first version was done by Ian Stewart and now the second edition has been released, with the last part covering the distribution of a WordPress Theme being completed recently. It’s everything you need to get started and is fast becoming a staple for those that are first entering into the theming waters. The entire Table of Contents is listed below and I suspect that you’ll be […]
