This has been a pretty light week in terms of news and breaking stories which is natural because of the holidays. I actually appreciate it because it makes my life a bit easier as an editors job is really never quite done and never really stops, especially if you’re attempting to launch a new venture in the news vertical. Which is what we’re trying to do! So my team has taken some time off but we’re working (just like a lot of you) and keeping our eyes on our inboxes. It’s not incredibly ideal but it is what it is, […]
2012, The Year I Joined WooThemes
On the 1st of April 2012, I was one of six new hires joining the WooThemes team, raising the total number of WooThemes team members to 23. It has been an amazing ride so far and the approaching end of this year made me realize yet again what a great decision it was to jump on the WooThemes train. WooThemes Releases WooCommerce 2.0 Beta 1
WooThemes has announced their release of Beta 1 for WooCommerce, their free plugin that is being widely adopted for many individuals and businesses. We’ve been using it and it does a great job of creating that simple eCommerce experience and checkout – we hope to use it more this coming year, especially with some of the new updates and features they plan on releasing for the next big update. A WooThemes Team Documentary? Call It a Docwoomentary!
We shared last week that the WooThemes Team had a neat little video that they were producing that was going to come out shortly – well, @CoenJacobs shared this morning that it was live! Check out the video – it’s more than just paintball, it’s a story about how WooThemes came together as a team and how they created one of the biggest Theme Shops in the world.
The WooThemes Paintball Team is Now Accepting Challenges…
Apparently one of the goals of flying your entire WordPress team into the same geographically region is so that you can beat the living snot out of each other with colored paint. Ah, the simple joys of dishing out pain to your friends…! Check out this short video they created which appears to be a teaser for a much larger feature coming out shortly.
