Nice round up man. Although it would be a faster read if you cut the article screenshots and just listed them. I can see screenshots being useful in some cases… but when you are just taking a screenshot of the web page… it seems a bit overdone.

Oh and did I mention, thanks for adding WPBeginner to the round up 🙂 Keep rocking it.

  all that text would get ridiculous – here we’re going the extra step by giving them a visual of what they might be experiencing if they click through. we’re in the age of scanning content and blocks of links is ridiculously-difficult to read.

    I totally agree with you in terms of providing visual element, and it is great. At the same time, in this day and age our attention span is very short. So making the content fast and easy to consume is also important. Dividing it into 5 pages mainly because there are huge images taking up most of the space is counter productive. I’m certain that this article could have been limited to 2-3 post pages. Thoughts?
    
    I have done some testing of post pagination with our other site List25 (where all of our posts are paginated). After much testing, we realized that 2 page split was the optimal solution (in terms of load time, time spent on page, pageviews per user that are not on the same article, and lower bounce rate).
    
    Its also worth trying the combination of small left aligned thumbnails with larger thumbnails in the same article to save vertical space and have a better user experience.
    
    Again you are the editor in chief, so you know best. I just thought I should put my 2 cents as a regular reader 🙂

      No, it’s a great conversation piece. We’re looking into the pagination piece and representing the content better. We’re moving fast and haven’t had time to implement 5% of what we’d like to implement.

Perhaps have a smaller screenshot the the left of each point, providing a nice balance between space used & providing people with an indication of the page.
