Automattic Wages War On ‘Woo’ Domain Names

“Automattic is actively asking businesses having the word ‘woo’ in their domain name to change the domain name,” WP Mayor wrote Monday in a blog post. The first known site to bow to the pressure is WooGPL, a WooCommerce plugin and extension company. WooGPL owner Billy Ablett announced in March that he will close up shop in June in an effort to “keep the peace.” Automattic contacted Ablett and claimed his use of the word “Woo” constituted trademark infringement, the announcement stated. GitHub Introduces Fixed Pricing For Unlimited Private Repositories

GitHub today announced that all paid plans on GitHub.com will include unlimited private repositories. This means that instead of paying based on the number of repositories used, users will have access to unlimited repositories at a fixed rate: Personal: $7 per month for an individual plan Organization: $9 per user per month for an organization, or $25 per month for the first five users Enterprise: $21 per month for the enterprise package, which is sold in packs of 10 users and billed annually All paid individual accounts will be automatically moved to the new plan over the next few days.
