Jetpack is continuing to release products updates and millions of people got the notification yesterday that they should probably update to version 2.3. But did most of them update without taking a second look at what they were adding to their experience? Perhaps, perhaps not, which would be too bad because this release see the introduction of Omnisearch, a powerful global search feature that has a lot of potential:
Thesis, what’s that…?! No, seriously. Thesis has had some “interesting” coverage over the years but Chris Pearson is still going strong and the business is still here, providing a lot of value for a lot of people. And they just announced their 2.1 Beta that comes with an all-new “Classic Responsive Skin.” If you’re a developer and have a license then you already have access to it.
I’m not sure about you but I’m one that totally ignores the morning news and forecast and just assumes that I’ll do ok with whatever shows up via the skies that day. If you’re not like me then you’re probably a far more intelligent person and one that actually does check the weather so that you can be more prepared to stay dry! Shame on me for trying to outsmart the weather gods.
Have you ever heard about the new Heartbeat API that’s being released with WordPress 3.6? It’s coming and it’s going to be a neat addition. For those that do not know, this is what it is among other things: This will do polling or long-polling so the server is able to send data and notifications to the browser. The primary use will be for setting, monitoring or taking over a post lock. Additionally it will be used to send autosave data to the server.
